Your main task to complete over the week is to get some rest from school. It's been a long term, so use the time to recharge. In preparation for next term, please remember to try and bring in: 1) an empty cardboard box (about the size of a tissue box,..if you only have something the size of a cereal box, we can sort that out and cut it to size) 2) any empty glass jars you've got at home Should you feel bored, remember to practise your multiplication tables, related division facts and Maths vocabulary (prime, square, multiple, factor, etc.). Spelling: Remember to learn your spelling words for Monday. If I have re-assessed your spelling level, you can either start on your new list or continue on your old one for now. Copies of new spelling lists will go out before half term.
Maths: Check your "Beat that" sheet for any mistakes you have made. (Several have been left on my desk, please collect these.) Remember to go through your Mental Maths paper. Reading: Remember to complete two book reviews for this term, if you haven't done this, yet. Post these in the "Book Club" section of the blog. Due: 24th October. Check your group's task: Hobnobs Oreos Jaffa Cakes English: Check that your SPaG task is completed. This should be on the smaller sheet (colour copy) under "Apply your skills". The "clauses" task should have been completed by most of you by now. You have time until your next SPaG session (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). Maths: Check your "Beath that!" sheet. What did you get wrong? What should the correct answer be? (Test: Tuesday) Go through your mental maths test and check which parts you need to work on. We'll have a further look at mental maths and completing calculations mentally in Maths lessons next week. Science: Complete your Science task. You should have two sheets this week. Due: Monday, 13th October. English: Complete any SPaG work (you have one worksheet to complete and a follow-up task for your group). We have been concentrating on sentences this week. Due: Monday.

Take some time to practise long multiplication and division. English: Complete any unfinished SPaG work in your folder. Due in: Monday.
Spelling: Remember to learn your spelling list for the test on Monday. Maths: No 'Beat it!' Test this week, due to photocopier failure. However, look carefully through your mental maths test. Check the questions you got wrong and try to work out the answers without the time pressure. Science: Complete the 'Circuit diagrams' sheet. We've looked at circuit symbols in the lesson on Friday. Due in: Friday. Remember to bring back your permission slip for the trip to Weston. Science - Complete the circuits worksheet in your folder for Friday.
Maths - Revise for your "Beat that!" test for Tuesday. Go through your Mental Maths sheet for next Friday. Spelling - Remember to learn your spelling list for Monday. Spelling: Learn List 1 on your spelling sheet. If you have lost your sheet, you can download a copy from here. We will be doing a spelling test every Monday.
Science: Please complete the tasks on the sheet. Your homework is due on Friday, 12th September. Remember to use your summer holidays to relax, spend lots of time outdoors and spend time with your family (even your siblings...no matter how annoying you might find them at times). If you've got a few minutes, try to complete the homework tasks below. Task 1: Read "Line of Fire" until the end. Task 2: Write a REVIEW of the book by adding a comment below. What do you think about the experience of the soldier? Was there anything you found particularly interesting? How did he react to the situation? How do the pictures support the story? Task 3: Write a postcard from your holiday to Year 6. Tell us what you have been up to. You can either send it by post or bring it in on the first day back. Even if you aren't going far away, try to let us know how you are enjoying the holidays.
