I hope you've had a wonderful start to the summer holidays and have had the chance to enjoy some of the nice weather. I've certainly enjoyed using my hammock...
As promised...
We've got quite a few things coming up in the last few days, so here's a little breakdown:
Thursday, 9th July - Ashton Park Induction day Friday, 10th July - Reports go home (please be advised that SATs results will follow next week) Tuesday, 14th July - Trip to Weston (please get reply slips back) Wednesday, 15th July - shuffle-up morning for Years R-5 (we'll spend the morning in the hall, doing rehearsals) Thursday, 16th July - AM: dress rehearsal; 6pm: performance to parents Friday, 17th July - Last day of school, including leavers' assembly I might have forgotten something. If so, let me know and I'll add it. In DT this term, Year 6 have been working hard on designing and making their pugglies. We've used some more time this week to finish them off. Some of them are absolutely fantastic! Today, Year 6 went to visit Bath Spa University. They learnt a bit more about what students do in their daily lives, had a tour around the campus and their own little graduation. In the afternoon, we were treated to a music session. Year 6 have been a pleasure today and I'm really proud of how they behaved and how quickly they have picked up new skills. On Tuesday, Year 6 went to Temple Meads Station to build their boats for the Bristol Harbour Festival. We learnt about different careers, went on a boat and then had a tour around the harbour. It was really hot, but nobody melted.
This afternoon, KS2 had their own little tea party. We had planned to go to the courts, but the weather was unfortunately not in our favour. Therefore, we set up in the downstairs hall. Years 3-6 played games, had scones and strawberry jam (made by Year 4), fresh bread (made by Year 5), pizzas and French toast (made by Year 6). In PE, we have been working on our tennis skills this term. We've been really lucky with the weather and Year 6 are getting better each week. |
